Airbrush Mask

What kind of masking do you guys use?I've tried a liquid mask but it's a little difficult to see cause it dries thin and transparent.It's kinda similar to Elmer's glue.I'm want to switch over to a non-liquid mask.

I use 3M Masking tape on micros, and lint rollers on 1:10 scales. You know, the things your get lint balls off your cashmere with

Anything that's semi-transparent?Cause I did an intricate pattern on the outside of the body.Or am I gonna hafta re-draw it on the inside?

Both are somewhat transparent. Not very, but you can see a shadow on it. If you do a design on the outside, use a Sharpie and when you're done, use denatured alcohol to wipe it off. No, you do not need Oxi Clean. Nevertheless, i've always just put tape down and drawn the design on the inside. I'll post pics of my pan bodies that i used this method on. If you're patient and have a sharp X-acto knife on your hands, go for it. Only pay attention to the flames on both bodies, those are the the only things i hand cut. On one of the bodies, i did a double-flame design, with white fading to orange as the first set of flames, then one row of blue flames, then all black. The other body only has some white-yellow flames coming off the front wheelwells. Pics up soon!

Ok thanks for the help.I'm doing rip away sections exposing blue flames underneath.It's getting a little hairy masking with the liquid stuff.Although I've gotten all the flames done.

just use 3M masking tape. do your designs on the ouside with black marker, and hold up the body up to a lite. you can see the marker through the tape just fine. i know this from experience.

Thanks.I just did a body for Bob today using The blue 3M masking tape and it came out great.I didn't even need to hold it up to the light to see the marker that I had drawn on the outside.
