Hey homer i have 2 questions for you.

-How does one go by ordering one of these bodies?
-Do you have any of the "Body H" aka WRX in stock?

Hey homer, how do you be making these bodies? Do you have like a specific machine that can make any bodies? If so, can make a 98 BMW M3 sedan for me?? That'll be nice if you can....

Audi,

Sorry man - I wish it were that simple.
Every body is individually handmade.
As for personally requests, I dont take on personal requests, but I'm always open to suggestions. Just TOO many designs to choose from. And its not a cheap hobby (making bodies) - alot of time goes into each one.

Alternatively, if you have anyone you know that has CNC equipment and the software to digitize your flavor, then you can look into it. That being said, it's not a cheap alternative - equipment time, design / cnc labour, material costs, and then don't forget, you still need to vacuum form - material cost, labor...

Sure np, just wanna to ask, that's all. So, what's the material of the body lid made of? Looking at the link you provided w/ the mustangs etc..looks like clay....is it? I guess you need a specific CNC machine and a sofeware program to do those bodies right? Can you show a pic of the process of how you be making those bodies? Sorry If I'm asking too much, just wanted to know how you be making these bodies.

The plug material is called renshape - manmade.
I switched over from clay to this material - much easier to work with and alot lighter.

I'm not sure about the CNC specifics or the software to make it operate, but I'm guessing its similar or identical to those used in milling and fabricating metal (alum) parts.

Process to make the bodies?
Its all by hand - simply starting with photos of the design, a block of the material and then shaping/cutting it (as with clay). I used steels with clay.
With renshape, its a completely different methodolgy of making these bodies - similar to clay but just more pieces to work with.

I'll end it here - take a class (or 2 or three or more...) in sculpting and industrial design and then it becomes easier.

OR as I said before, pay the bucks to hire the design and CNC people to do it, and then take the plug to the vacuum formers to pull the shells. (easier said than done.. )

Exclamation homeRmade RC18T buginator body - REMAKE

http://www.one18th.com/GetGallery7721.htm

HI everyone,

Hope you all had a good summer - I sure did!

I have had numerous requests for the remake of this body lid and so far Ive been reluctant to re-produce this one since Ive been busy making/completing the other lids.

Im posting here to let those of you know, that are still interested in getting one of these shells I will go ahead on the remake of this design only a pre-order pre-paid basis.
So if it's only 5 bodies paid for then only 5 will be produced - no extras sitting around, blah, blah, blah...

Right now, I am completing my new shell designs as I post and will make these buginator lids right after I complete the new designs. These are limited run.

This is only for the body shell and wing. There are no decals, no window masks (although I can provide a jpeg to those that purchase), and no wing assembly parts.
I can post photos the parts you need for the wing assembly - they are readily available at your lhs or online.

This will only include a clear lexan body and wing - $12.75usd plus shipping from C-eh-N-eh-D-eh via insured parcel air.

I do combine ship for $$ savings.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

ALL pre-orders must be pre-paid by September 8, 2006 as I'm on a schedule to finish my vacuum process before I dismantle the former next week, and move it into my new bigger and better hobby/workshop I've just completed building.

After Sept 8, 2006, I will NOT accept anymore requests for this body - I'll be too busy getting the new lids organized and moving to the new hobby workshop.
