I LOVE IT, but it just killed my pinion. I was using a nylon 14t pinion and it made a mess out of it. I'll probably have to replace my spur gear too... i'm glad that I found a place that sells just the spur gear... I'd hate to have to buy a whole new ball bearing SET just to use the spur gear. I've got the metal pinions on order and when they come in, everything should be fine... unless the spur gear is REALLY messed up.
The motor is REALLY fast. You should see peoples faces as they look out their car window and see my micro pass THEM! Too funny. I do have to be careful. Sometimes I get so excited I forget to look for traffic coming the other way! Talk about rushing headlong into DEATH!

Yeah. The BB really makes these little cars fly. I just recently got my micro, alloy dogbones, 1-way front diff, rear ball diff, alloy shocks, alloy front pully, and ill soon have the EXO Micro Chassis.
Too many things to buy...

i got everything but the steel pinions in friday and installed, the motor is fast so fast it spun the tires off after i spent 3 hours charging the battery which has to be charged NiMH, i had my regular stock pinions on and it stripped one of them clean its perfectly smooth where it spun against the spur the spur though is undamaged im hoping the pinions come in this week, oh yea the battery, motor, and aluminum rear diff mount came from hong cong which explains why it took 10 days to get the money to them

jw_j make sure you dont use the steel pinion with the Big Block, it has insane power and you will shread your spur. It is designed to use the orion plastic pinions, and they recomend 14t because if you gear it with a smaller pinion it has too much torque. It is much cheeper to break a pinion than to replace a spur gear.

Its pretty dangerous. My car came within about 1" from getting smashed flat by a car. I was trying to race it and i let off the gas and it spun (wasnt used to the front one way diff) and almost went under the tire.

Actually, its pretty safe. I can usually hear the cars coming. It is a residential area in front of my house. We have, maybe a car every 15 minutes that pass by, so its not "traffic" per se.
Andrew, the one time I came CLOSE to losing "my PRECIOUSSSS" was when I was racing one car, enjoying the kids looking out the window and didn't realize until almost too late that another car was coming in the opposite direction!!!!! WOW. I hit the brakes (before one-way diff was installed) and was able to duck behind the car I was racing to get out of the way of the other guy. The reason I'm so concerned now is that if that happens again, my car's a gonner because the car either wouldn't stop OR it would spin out and I wouldn't have enough time to "GET OUT OF THE WAY!". LOL.
Now, when I go out (with the one-way), I just stick close to the curb and HOPEFULLY I'm out of the way of whatever comes down on the street!
Fun, but dangerous! Kinda like being in the water w/ a 15 foot Tiger Shark or a GREAT WHITE! EWWWW....

DARN! Thanks for the info. Strangebrew605. I just got the metal pinions today. I WAS (and still might) going to put them on and see what they do with my BIG BLOCK, but since I don't want to kill my spur gear, I probably won't.
Would it depend on the mesh or would it take out my spur gear no matter what? Let me know. I've got only a few hours before I can "go out and play" (Yup, I'm at work now!).

well i have the biggest steel pinion i can get on there, i spent 2 hours hackin the metal rear diff housing to get the motor close enough to touch the spur gear now it fits and is back in the car

I think it would shread the spur gear with the metal pinion no matter how good the mesh. that motor has insane power that is why it has no run time.
